"The Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal is the coming together of children, schools, families, businesses and many, many volunteers to help children in need in Eastern Europe and Africa. We are sending a shoebox full of simple Christmas gifts to a child who may well not receive anything else at Christmas. However, we are also sending a message of love, hope, and solidarity to these children and their families.
Our volunteers have been busy engaging with schools throughout Wicklow for the last couple of months, enlisting the schools to participate in the Appeal, speaking to the children and the teachers. They have also been engaging with community organisations, businesses, individual donors, and people who want to help in the Appeal.
In a world so full of pain and trouble it is really uplifting to witness the goodness of so many people who want to help children, families, and communities in need.
Our Checking Centre for County Wicklow will be in Nazarene Church in Greystones this year. The Centre will receive shoeboxes from all over Wicklow and process them for shipment to the receiving communities overseas. The Centre will be open from 9am to 1pm from Tuesday November 10th through to Friday November 27th.
If you would like to volunteer or have any questions, please do call or message Barry Meyler on 086 2641598 or emailbarry.meyler@outlook.com."
